St. Xavier’s School, Doranda, Ranchi successfully organized the CISCE Regional Athletics Tournament from 22nd to 24th August. A total of 6 regional teams including Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad-Bokaro, Patna, Bhagalpur, and Deoghar participated in this important tournament. The students of St. Xavier’s School, Bokaro also represented Dhanbad and Bokaro region in the tournament and displayed their excellent performance ability.
In the competition, Ayush Raj secured first place in shot put and third place in javelin. Shashvat Pritam secured first place in 400m race and third place in 200m. Aditya Raj secured first place in high jump, while Raj Bhattacharjee secured first place in discus throw and second place in shot put. Anant Sagar secured second place in 800m and third place in 1500m. Pragya Mishra secured second place in both discus and javelin. Apart from this, Anushka Khajur, Ehsan Ansari, Deepa Kumari, and Nayan Raj also secured third place in their respective events.
The students who participated in this tournament, with their sportsmanship and dedication, secured positions in their events and brought laurels to their school. Among these promising players of Saint Xavier’s School, Ayush Raj, Shashvat Pritam, Aditya Raj, Anant Sagar, Raj Bhattacharjee, Pragya Mishra, and Garima Shrestha were also selected for the Nationals, which is an even bigger proud moment for them.
Principal of St. Xavier’s School, Fr. Arun Minj (Society of Jesus), congratulated all the winners and boosted their morale by saying, “Sports not only refreshes our body and mind but it also motivates us to move forward. Sports plays an important role in making our life successful, and we should actively participate in every field.”
