Latehar Police in Jharkhand have successfully arrested two extremists, including a sub-zonal commander of the JJMP (Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad), named Khurshid Ansari and Feku Bhuiyan alias Sarvnash. Khurshid Ansari is a resident of Pochra in Latehar, while Feku Bhuiyan hails from Balumath. The police recovered two AK-47 rifles and eight live bullets from their possession. This information was revealed by Latehar Superintendent of Police (SP), Kumar Gaurav, during a press briefing.
According to SP Kumar Gaurav, the police received intelligence that two armed extremists were spotted near the Narayanpur forest in the Sadar police station area, possibly plotting a major crime. Acting on this information, the SP quickly formed a special team with the objective of capturing the extremists at all costs.
The police team proceeded to the designated location and began surrounding the area. As they advanced through the forest near the foothills, they spotted both extremists armed with weapons. Upon noticing the police, the extremists attempted to flee, but the team successfully apprehended them. The items seized included one high-tech, China-made automatic AK-47, one regular AK-47, eight live bullets, three mobile phones, and an internet router.
Both extremists had multiple cases registered against them in various police stations, and they had been on the police radar for quite some time.
The police team, led by Latehar Police Station Officer Pramod Kumar Sinha, along with Sub-Inspectors Ranjan Kumar Paswan, Devendra Kumar, Surendra Kumar Mahato, Manoj Kumar, Bhagirath Paswan, Ramakant Gupta, Kuber Prasad Dev, Nageshwar Mahato, and Umapad Mahato, played a commendable role in the successful capture of the extremists.
