On July 30th, Mrs. Mausami Malik, Principal of DAV-Ispat Public School, Sector 2-C, distributed free reading materials and uniforms to Birhor children. This initiative, organized by BSL’s CSR department, was supported by key figures including Mr. Neeraj Kumar Tripathi (Senior Manager, CSR), Mr. Ashok Kumar (Deputy Manager, CSR), Mr. Suraj Chandra Tiwari, Birhor Hostel Warden Mr. Bahadur Singh, Mr. Bipin Rai (A.R.O, DAV Jharkhand Zone), and Mr. Satendra Kumar (Principal, DAV Dumri).
As part of the Gyan Jyoti Yojana, 12 Birhor children were adopted by Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) in 2024. This effort, which began in 2001, aims to integrate the children of the endangered Birhor community with mainstream society. BSL/CSR provides free accommodation and food at Birhor Bal Niwas, Trainees Hostel #01, and educational support at DAV-Ispat Public School, Sector 2-C.
