Loyola Day Celebrated at St. Xavier’s School

St. Xavier’s school celebrated Loyola Day on 31 July in honor of the feast day of St. Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus. The program began with a prayer song and focused on the message of the 9 Day Novena, which helps us better express our gratitude to God for answering our prayers. After this, Father Arun Minj S.J. , Father Manoj Kujur and Father Nirmal Kullu were welcomed with a flower bouquet.

Addressing the program, Principal Father Arun Minj stressed the importance of spirituality in our lives and urged to take better care of the neglected poor in the society.

After this the middle school girls presented a beautiful dance. This was followed by a play about Ignatius Loyola’s teachings on humanity and faith.

The Principal expressed his gratitude towards the teachers and students for arranging the program and encouraged the children to give priority to real life over the glamorous depiction of life in films. The Principal appreciated the winning team in badminton tournament and presented them with certificates and medals.

 

After the program was over, the auspicious task of unveiling two statues, one of Mother Mary and the other of St. Francis Xavier, was performed by Principal Father Arun Minj, Father Manoj and Father Nirmal.
