On the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, the students, faculty, and staff of Guru Gobind Singh Educational Societies Technical Campus organized a memorial event dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi’s life and philosophy. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi by the Chief Guest, Honorable Secretary of the institution, Mr. Surendra Pal Singh, and other dignitaries.
In his address, the Chief Guest spoke about Mahatma Gandhi’s immense contribution to the building and progress of the nation. College Director, Dr. Priyadarshi Jharuar, inspired the students and youth to understand and imbibe Gandhi’s ideology in their lives.
Following the speeches, the winners of various competitions held among the students, including quiz, speech, essay, and painting, were announced. The list of winners is as follows:
Painting : Yash Toppo, Computer Engineering (Data Science), First Year
Quiz : Ravishankar (B.Tech, First Year), Shivani (MBA, First Year), Amit and Ram (B.Tech, First Year)
Speech : Shubhani Jha, CSC, Third Year (First Place); Hrit Singh, BCA, First Year (Second Place)
Essay : Srishti Kumari, CSC, Third Year and Hrit Singh
After the prize distribution ceremony, refreshments were served. The event was coordinated by Dr. A.P. Barnwal, Program Officer of AAS, and Prof. Apoorva Sinha, Cultural Cell Coordinator. The program concluded with the national anthem. The Honorable Chairman of the institution, Mr. Tarsem Singh, congratulated everyone on the successful event.
