DPS Bokaro Students Showcase Scientific Acumen and Creativity in ‘SRIJAN’

DPS Bokaro hosted a two-day Science Summit, ‘SRIJAN,’ aimed at encouraging scientific learning and creativity among students. The event featured various inter-house competitions including Science Projects, Child Rights presentations, Robotics, IT, and Quiz contests. Around 150 students from different houses participated, presenting their projects and innovations across 42 stalls. The event concluded on Thursday.

The summit was inaugurated by Dr. Somnath Chattopadhyay, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department at IIT ISM Dhanbad, who emphasized the importance of innovation and the role of youth in shaping India’s future. The panel of judges included professors from IIT ISM and BIT Mesra, along with Mr. P.R.K. Verma, Secretary of the National Children’s Science Congress (Jharkhand).

Key Competitions and Winners:

Science Exhibition: 

Junior Category: Ganga House’s ‘A Surge of Life’ won first place, followed by Jamuna House’s ‘Sunshine for Safe Sips’ and Jhelum House’s ‘Algae Discernment.’

Senior Category: Raavi House’s ‘Smart Home Project’ secured first place, while Ganga House’s ‘Drop Cover Hold’ and Jhelum House’s ‘Eco-Bricks for Eco-Roads’ took second and third places.

Child Rights Competition:  

Junior Category: Chenab House’s ‘Vivid Dreams’ won first place, with Jamuna House’s ‘Sleep Deprivation’ second, and Ganga House’s ‘Hausalon Ki Udaan’ third.

Senior Category: Sutlej House’s ‘Stress and Strain in the Digital Age’ secured the top spot, followed by Jamuna House’s ‘Sapnon Ki Udaan’ and a tie between Chenab House’s ‘Vichar-Sanchar-Vikas’ and Raavi House’s ‘A Substantive Right for Children’ for third place.

Robotics Competition: 

Junior Category: Raavi House’s ‘Hydrophonics Plant Growth Chamber’ and Chenab House’s ‘Advanced Multipurpose Agricultural System’ won first place, while Jhelum’s ‘Indo Invoice’ and Sutlej’s ‘Auto Bright Street’ took second place. Ganga’s ‘Smart Vacuum Cleaner’ and ‘Automated Fire Extinguisher’ shared third place.

Senior Category: Jhelum House’s ‘Prototype Neo’ won first, Sutlej’s ‘Water Purifier and Purity Checker’ second, and Ganga House’s ‘Dual Axis Solar Tracking System’ third.

Robo-War Competition: Ganga House clinched first place, with Raavi and Sutlej Houses securing second and third positions respectively.

IT Competition: In the Junior category, Manish Ranjan (Jhelum), Atharv Tiwari (Jamuna), and Atharv Kumar (Ganga) took the top spots, while in the Senior category, Amrit Raj (Jamuna), Palaksh Singh (Ganga), and Sarvagya Singh (Raavi) secured first, second, and third places respectively.

Quiz Competition (Senior Category): Jhelum House emerged victorious, followed by Jamuna and Chenab Houses.

Principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar emphasized the significance of such platforms in nurturing scientific awareness, leadership, and hands-on learning skills among students, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic development.
