Arrest Made in Bokaro for Illegal Possession of Firearm

On the evening of 15th October 2024, at approximately 6:40 PM, Sub-Inspector Birendra Khakha, while on evening patrol duty, received confidential information about a suspicious individual near Co-operative Colony More. The suspect, described as wearing a black T-shirt, was reportedly carrying a country-made pistol and was potentially planning to commit a crime.

Acting swiftly on this intelligence, a team was formed under the leadership of the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bokaro City. The team arrived at the location near a liquor store at Co-operative Colony More and spotted a person matching the description—wearing a black T-shirt and jeans. Upon seeing the police approaching, the suspect began fleeing towards Sector 02/A.

The police team, including armed officers, chased the individual and successfully apprehended him. Upon interrogation, the suspect identified himself as Pramod Sharma, son of the late Yogeshwar Sharma, residing at House No. 2-412, Sector 02/B, Bokaro Steel City.

A search of the suspect revealed a country-made pistol tucked into the right side of his pants, loaded with an 8mm live cartridge. Additionally, two more live 8mm cartridges and two misfired 8mm cartridges were found in his left pocket.

  1. One loaded country-made pistol with an 8mm live cartridge in the barrel.
  2. Two live 8mm cartridges.
  3. Two misfired 8mm cartridges.

The police are conducting further investigations into the case, and legal proceedings against the suspect are underway.
