A major liquor smuggling incident has been revealed in Bokaro district. As per the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Madam Bokaro and under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Excise, the District Excise Force chased a vehicle near Sector 02B, F Road on the basis of a secret information and succeeded in catching it. This vehicle was a Toyota Innova (JH 09 P 1314), in which a huge amount of illegal foreign liquor and spirit was being transported.
On searching the vehicle, the police found 240 bottles of foreign liquor, totalling 90 litres, and 20 litres of spirit. In this case, the police have arrested a person named Nitesh Kumar Singh. Based on his interrogation, the police also raided his residence in Sector 02, from where more foreign liquor and spirit were recovered.
Sub Inspector Sadar-cum-Tenughat Sunny Vivek Tirki and Sub Inspector Bermo-cum-Chandpura Ravi Ranjan were present in the investigation team. In this operation led by these officers, the police has succeeded in seizing a total of 60 liters of spirit, 312 bottles of 375 ml foreign liquor (total 117 liters), and Toyota Innova used in smuggling.
The police is now conducting raids to arrest other accused involved in this case. This swift action of the District Excise Department has exposed a large gang of illegal liquor smuggling.
