Gomia: Sanjhla Manjhi, a 30-years-old resident of Jamua Beda village in Chute Panchayat, Gomia Block, had been missing for eight days. His family had been searching for him but had no information about his whereabouts. On September 19, after being informed by Vishnugarh Police, the family reached the Sadar Hospital, where they identified his body. Manjhi had been missing since September 11, and his family had been looking for him for eight days.
It is reported that Sanjhla Manjhi was working under a contractor at the Konar Dam for L&T Company. On the evening of September 11, he was traveling to Banaso on his bicycle when he was hit by an unidentified motorcycle. Local residents took him to Vishnugarh Hospital, from where he was referred to Sadar Hospital in Hazaribagh. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
On September 19, Vishnugarh Police informed the family that an unidentified person had been injured in an accident and was sent to Sadar Hospital for treatment. When the family arrived at the hospital, they confirmed that it was Sanjhla Manjhi.
Following this, on Friday, villagers and the family, led by Chute Panchayat’s headman Riaz Ansari, gathered at Konar Dam to demand compensation from the contractor. Ansari mentioned that the deceased belonged to a poor family and required financial assistance. He urged the company to provide compensation to the grieving family.
