80 Students from 20 Schools Showcase Excellence in Finance and Commerce.

To nurture students’ knowledge and talents in finance, commerce, business, and economics, Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro, hosted the inter-school commerce quiz competition, ComQuiz 2024, on Saturday. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 20 schools across Bokaro district, with each team comprising four members.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. A. S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro and President of Dr. Radhakrishnan Sahodaya School Complex, along with Vishwajit Patra, Principal of ARS Public School, Fr. Joshi Varghese, Principal of MGM Higher Secondary School, and Ranjit Kumar, Principal of Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Chas. Following the inaugural lamp-lighting ceremony, DPS Bokaro students presented a soulful welcome song “Aaj Aapka Hai Abhinandan…” and the school anthem “Aaya Hai Naya Savera…”. Head Girl Ananya Raj delivered the welcome address.
MGM Bags First Prize in Six-Round Quiz
The competition began with a 30-minute written preliminary round, after which the top six teams advanced to the final rounds. The quiz comprised six engaging rounds, covering topics such as companies, banking, stock markets, government budgets, GST, insurance, demonetization, GDP, income tax, and mercantile law. The competition culminated in a rapid-fire round that dramatically reshuffled the leaderboard.
MGM Higher Secondary School emerged victorious with 115 points, while Holy Cross School secured second place with 105 points, and DPS Bokaro came in third with 90 points.
“Teachers Must Help Students Realize Their Dreams”: Chief Guest
The closing ceremony was graced by Sujay Kumar, Chief General Manager (Finance & Accounts), BSL, who awarded trophies and certificates to the winning and runner-up teams. Addressing the audience, he encouraged teachers to support students in achieving their dreams and urged students to pursue their goals with patience, perseverance, and humility. He lauded the initiative, emphasizing the importance of such events in fostering a spirit of healthy competition.
“Strong Foundations for a Robust Economy”: Dr. Gangwar
Earlier, Dr. Gangwar welcomed all participants and stressed the need for a strong foundation in commerce among students to ensure India’s economic strength. He highlighted the value of participation over victory and emphasized learning from peers. He also proposed organizing similar competitions at the state level in the future. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Head Boy Kanhaiya Bhardwaj.
