Bokaro : Guru Gobind Singh Educational Society’s Technical Campus (NAAC-accredited with B++ grade), an engineering and management college, organized a workshop on the theme “NAAC Accreditation in Higher Education: Critical Need – Challenges and Prospects” at Hotel Hans Regency, Sector 1-C, on the evening of August 20, 2025.

The resource person for the workshop was the Director of the college, Dr. Priyadarshi Jaruhar, while the distinguished guests included the Honorable Secretary of the institution, Mr. Surendra Pal Singh, and member Mr. Jagmohan Singh. Principals from GGPS schools — Mr. Somen Chakraborty (Sector-5), Mr. Abhishek Kumar (Chas), and Mr. Sudip Thakur (Dhanbad) — also participated in the event.

 

Around 70 faculty members registered themselves through Google Forms and took part in the workshop. In his address, Dr. Jaruhar highlighted the latest parameters of Maturity-Based Grade Level (MBGL) and delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation. He emphasized that in order to bring the college up to international standards, it is essential to target Grade Level 5 benchmarks, and the institution is actively working towards achieving this goal.

 

It is noteworthy that after receiving NAAC accreditation, the college has secured the top position among both government and non-government colleges in Jharkhand.

The event concluded with a fellowship dinner. The program was anchored by Prof. Rashmi Thakur, Head of the BBA Department & OSD-HR. Special contributions were made by IQAC Coordinator & Associate Prof. Dr. Manojit Dey, Dr. Deepak Kumar, Prof. Sumeet Pandey, Prof. Mehmood Alam, Prof. Pallavi Prasad, Prof. Siddlal Hembrom, and others.

 

The Honorable Chairman of the institution, Mr. Tarsem Singh, extended his congratulations and best wishes to the Director and his team for the successful conduct of the workshop.
