Bokaro: A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday at the Bokaro Steel Plant, operated by the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), in which a contract worker suffered serious injuries. The incident took place in the quenching loco area of the Coke Oven Department, where worker Raghunath Gorai was run over by a rail trolley, resulting in the amputation of both his legs.
According to sources, plant authorities immediately arranged for an ambulance, and the injured worker was rushed to the plant’s medical centre. After initial treatment, doctors declared his condition critical and referred him to Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) for advanced care.
Senior officials from the Bokaro Steel Plant quickly reached the accident site and took stock of the situation. Meanwhile, news of the incident sent shockwaves through the victim’s family, who were devastated upon receiving the information.

Raghunath Gorai is currently undergoing treatment at BGH, and an internal inquiry has been initiated to determine the cause of the accident.
