On September 27 the Chas Municipal Corporation organized an awareness program titled “Swachhta Hi Seva” at the Guru Gobind Singh Educational Societies Technical Campus in Bokaro. The event’s chief speaker was Assistant Municipal Commissioner Mr. Jaipal Singh, accompanied by City Managers Mr. Santosh Kumar and Mr. Meghnad Chaudhary. Also in attendance were P.I.U. officials, including Mr. Shiv Shankar Sinha, Mr. Binod Kumar, Mr. Prakash Kumar Gop, and Mr. Aqib Hussain.
The program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Dr. Priyadarshi Jaruhar, Director of the college, welcomed Assistant Municipal Commissioner Mr. Jaipal Singh by presenting him with a bouquet and shawl, while other dignitaries were also greeted warmly.
The chief speaker, Mr. Jaipal Singh, delivered a speech on the importance of cleanliness, recalling the guidance of Mahatma Gandhi. He also captivated the audience by singing a self-composed song on cleanliness and shedding light on his personal life struggles. Following this, City Manager Mr. Meghnad Chaudhary conducted a cleanliness-themed quiz competition among the students, where several students were awarded prizes by the chief guest.
The program was coordinated by Dr. A.P. Barnwal, while students Hrit Kumari and Fatima efficiently hosted the event. At the end of the session, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Mr. Jaipal Singh led the audience in taking a cleanliness pledge.
The event concluded with the national anthem, followed by a tree-planting ceremony on the campus. The President of the institute, Mr. Tarsem Singh, and Secretary Mr. Surender Pal Singh extended their congratulations on the successful event.
