Ranchi : A tragic road accident in Ranchi claimed the life of a school van driver, Imran, who succumbed to his injuries during treatment late this evening. The incident occurred earlier today near Shalimar Market in the Dhurwa police station area, where a collision between a school van and an IPS officer’s Scorpio left the van severely damaged.
Imran, a resident of Doranda, was critically injured in the accident. Fortunately, the school children aboard the van escaped unhurt. Reports of the collision surfaced early in the morning, with initial accounts suggesting a heated argument between the drivers of the van and the Scorpio. Allegedly, after the dispute, Imran drove away, only to be hit from behind by the Scorpio, which had “Police” inscribed on it.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that the school van, belonging to Johar Academy, was speeding when it first collided with another car. A verbal altercation broke out between the van driver and the car driver. Sensing the situation escalating, Imran attempted to drive away quickly but collided with the IPS officer’s Scorpio shortly after.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area. Authorities are reviewing the footage as part of the ongoing investigation.
