Bokaro: In a move aimed at enhancing patient safety and hospital efficiency, Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) will begin the trial implementation of RFID-enabled restricted entry for patient attendants starting Monday, June 24, 2025.
As part of this new protocol, entry into the hospital’s indoor premises will be permitted only through RFID-enabled passes. These passes have already been distributed to all hospital employees both regular and contractual as well as to attendants of indoor-admitted patients.
Significantly, only one attendant per patient, who is issued the RFID pass at the time of admission, will be allowed to visit the ward. This measure is being introduced to minimize the risk of cross infections and to ensure greater safety and discipline within the hospital premises.
In exceptional cases, a special purpose visit pass may be issued upon authorization from appropriate BGH authorities. This will require proper declaration and justification.
The hospital administration has urged all stakeholders to extend their full cooperation, stating that this initiative is a step forward in strengthening healthcare delivery and ensuring a safer environment for patients and staff alike.
