Sub Inspector posted in Special Branch in Ranchi has been shot dead. The body of Sub Inspector named Anupam Kachhap has been recovered from Ranchi Ring Road. After getting information about the matter, Ranchi Police is investigating the matter.
Bright Sub Inspector Anupam Kachhap of 2018 batch has been shot dead. Anupam’s body has been recovered from the Ring Road of Kanke police station area. Anupam was shot twice by criminals. As soon as the information about Anupam’s murder was received, there was panic in Ranchi Police. Many officers including IG DIG of Special Branch, DIG of Ranchi Police, SSP reached RIMS.
Ranchi DIG Anoop Birthare said that Anupam was murdered while returning from Indian Dhaba located on Kanke Ring Road. Efforts have been started by the police to identify and arrest the criminals.
On the other hand, it has also been revealed from police sources that Anupam had gone to a dhaba located on Kanke Ring Road to party with some of his friends. The party of Anupam and his friends continued till around 1 am in the night. At around 2 am, Anupam left on his bike while the rest of his friends left by car. During this time the criminals shot Anupam dead. Sub Inspector Anupam was shot four times by criminals. A bullet has hit his hand. Two bullets pierced the body and came out. While a bullet is stuck in the chest.

Ranchi SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha said that ‘Sub-Inspector Anup Kachhap, who was posted at the headquarters of the Special Branch, was murdered last night. Pawan Kumar, associate and batchmate of the deceased police officer, has told that they had gone to Line Hotel to have food. After dinner the rest returned to Kanke, but the Sub Inspector came out the other way. In such a situation, investigation is being done as to why he went through the other route and what happened? It is being investigated by SIT. It seems as if the bullet has been fired from close range. A SIT has been formed to investigate the crime under the leadership of SP Rural Sumit Aggarwal and other officers have also been deployed to investigate the matter.
Anupam, who did B.Tech from BIT Sindri in 2014, was a resident of Khunti district of Ranchi. Anupam was posted in the Special Branch located at Jharkhand Police Headquarters. Where they used to tighten the noose on criminals. Along with the police team, the Special Branch is also investigating the case. Anupam joined the police service in 2018 after completing B.Tech from BIT Sindri.
