Bulletin India, Correspondent.
Chaibasa : Security forces conducting a search operation in the dense forests of Chaibasa on Sunday discovered a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing 10 kilograms. The explosive was planted by Naxal operatives with the intent to harm security personnel.

According to Chaibasa Superintendent of Police, Ashutosh Shekhar, the operation was launched in the jungles and hilly terrain of the Tonto police station area to track top Naxal leaders and their squad members. Around 9:30 AM, during the search between Vanagram Hathiburu and Lamsadih, security personnel detected the IED.

Realizing the potential danger, the bomb disposal squad was called in, and the explosive was safely detonated in the forest. The detonation caused a massive explosion, momentarily filling the area with smoke. Officials stated that had anyone stepped on the device, the impact could have been fatal.

This search operation comes in response to intelligence reports suggesting the movement of key Naxal leaders, including Misir Besra, Anmol, Mochu, Anal, Asim Mandal, Ajay Mahato, Sagen Angaria, and Ashwin, in the Saranda and Kolhan forest regions.
Multiple security agencies, including Chaibasa Police, CoBRA 209 BN, 203 BN, Jharkhand Jaguar, and CRPF units 60 BN, 197 BN, 174 BN, 193 BN, 134 BN, and 26 BN, are actively engaged in the mission. The recovery and disposal of the IED mark a significant success in ensuring the safety of security forces operating in the Naxal-affected regions.
