Ranchi, Jharkhand: In a significant decision, the Jharkhand High Court has issued a directive to discontinue morning court sessions in all civil courts across the state. The order, issued by the Registrar General of the High Court, instructs all Principal District and Sessions Judges not to hold morning court sittings within their respective jurisdictions.
As per established practice, civil courts in Jharkhand used to function in morning hours from the first Monday of April to the last Saturday of June each year, operating between 7:00 AM and 12:30 PM. However, this year, the High Court has decided to do away with this arrangement for the first time.
Additionally, the High Court has declared a summer vacation from May 25 to June 6. An official notification in this regard has been issued by the Hon’ble Jharkhand High Court. The decision is expected to bring significant changes to the functioning of civil courts in the state.
