Bokaro: In a momentous ceremony held at the premises of the Bokaro District Bar Association, a life-size statue of the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, was formally unveiled. The unveiling ceremony was jointly conducted by Bokaro’s Principal District Judge, Mr. Anil Kumar Mishra, and Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Ajay Nath Jha.

The event marked a significant occasion to honor the legacy and ideals of Dr. Ambedkar, a towering figure in India’s socio-political history who championed social justice, equality, and constitutional values.

 

Advocate Ranjeet Giri, a National Council Member of the Indian Association of Lawyers, welcomed the chief guests with floral bouquets and presented them with shawls as a gesture of respect and honor. In their brief addresses, both the Principal District Judge and the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the relevance of Dr. Ambedkar’s thoughts in today’s society and emphasized his invaluable contributions to social reform and the Indian legal system.

The program was conducted under the stewardship of Mahesh Chaudhary, Acting General Secretary of the Bokaro District Bar Association.

Among the dignitaries present were the Chairman of the Statue Construction Committee, Advocate R.P. Singh, and several senior advocates including Hari Prakash Singh, Ram Singhassan Ram, Animesh Chaudhary, M.K. Srivastava, R.K. Singh, Ashok Mahato, Dinesh Sharma, Somnath Shekhar, Atul Kumar, Ayesha Parveen, Sunita Devi, Poonam Kumari, and Samar, along with hundreds of practicing lawyers.

 

The unveiling served as a profound tribute to Dr. Ambedkar’s life and philosophy, reaffirming the legal fraternity’s commitment to uphold the values of equality, justice, and the rule of law. The event not only celebrated the memory of a great statesman but also inspired the legal community to carry forward his vision of an inclusive and equitable society.
