Bokaro : Under the guidance of Hon’ble Principal District and Sessions Judge cum Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bokaro, Anil Kumar Mishra, a Jail Court-cum-Legal Awareness Camp and Medical Health Check-up Camp was organized today at Divisional Jail, Chas.
The jail court proceedings were conducted in the presence of Srishti Kumari, JM 1st, Bokaro, and Deputy Chief LADC Pammi Kumari, who served as its members. The objective of the jail court was to review and address pending cases of the inmates and provide immediate legal redressal wherever possible.
Alongside, a health check-up camp was also held within the jail premises where a total of 28 inmates (22 male and 4 female) underwent medical examination. One inmate was referred to Sadar Hospital, Bokaro for further treatment.
A legal awareness session was also conducted as part of the initiative. During this session, Anuj Kumar, Secretary, DLSA Bokaro, Jail Superintendent Nikhil Kant, and other speakers addressed the inmates. They provided detailed information about the legal assistance available under the Legal Services Authority Act and educated the prisoners about their legal rights and entitlements.

The event aimed at ensuring that undertrial prisoners and convicts are not deprived of their legal rights and are made aware of the support mechanisms available to them.
