Ranchi : On the occasion of National Voters’ Day, eight IPS officers from Jharkhand were honored for their exceptional contributions to ensuring the peaceful and secure conduct of the Lok Sabha and Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024. The Governor of Jharkhand, Santosh Gangwar, presented the awards at a special ceremony held at the Aryabhatta Auditorium of Ranchi College in the state capital.

The event recognized the efforts of the officers in maintaining law and order and upholding democratic values during the election process. The honorees included senior officials from various wings of the state police and paramilitary forces.

The following officers were felicitated:  

1. Saket Kumar Singh – IG, CRPF, Jharkhand Sector  

2. Amol Vinukant Homkar – IG, Operations  

3. Michael Raj S – IG, Bokaro Zone  

4. Anup Birthare – IG, Jharkhand Jaguar  

5. Indrajit Mahatha – DIG, Jharkhand Jaguar  

6. Dhananjay Kumar Singh – DIG, JWTS Netarhat  

7. Rishma Rameshan – SP, Palamu  

8. Mithilesh Kumar – Deputy Commandant  

Addressing the gathering, Governor Gangwar lauded the officers for their dedication and emphasized the importance of robust security arrangements in preserving the integrity of the electoral process. He highlighted that their efforts had not only ensured peaceful elections but also strengthened public trust in the state’s law enforcement agencies.

The ceremony concluded with a commitment to continue prioritizing security and the democratic rights of citizens in future electoral exercises.
