The police have cracked two major theft cases in Bokaro’s Sawang and Lalpania areas, leading to the arrest of interstate criminals in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district. According to Gomia Police Station in-charge, Nityanand Bhogta, and Lalpania Police Station in-charge, Shashi Shekhar, the thefts took place on the nights of August 18 and August 31, respectively.
On August 18, criminals broke into the locked residence of Sunil Singh in Sawang and carried out the robbery. Similarly, on the night of August 31, thieves targeted five quarters in the Lalpania residential colony, stealing cash and jewelry worth lakhs of rupees.
The arrested criminals were part of a gang that operated across state lines, committing thefts in various states and then fleeing to other regions to evade capture. The breakthrough came when the Saharanpur police in Uttar Pradesh, specifically from the Nagal Police Station, apprehended the criminals.
It’s worth mentioning that the same gang was involved in a significant theft incident in the Sugar Mill Residential Colony under the Nagal Police Station area in Saharanpur. During their investigation, the police arrested five criminals, all of whom hail from Madhya Pradesh. The arrested individuals include Guddu, son of Bhawar Singh, Pataliya, son of Richhu Singh, Ganggu, son of Bhawar Singh, Ganpat alias Ganesh, son of Ditya, and Chhotu, son of Rewa Singh. They are residents of various districts in Madhya Pradesh.
During interrogation, the criminals confessed to their involvement in thefts not only in Bokaro but also in other states, including Jharkhand, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
How the Case Was Solved
Following the major theft at the Sugar Mill Colony in Saharanpur, the police identified the suspects’ vehicle through surveillance and CCTV footage. When the police attempted to stop the vehicle, the criminals tried to flee and even fired shots at the officers. In response, two of the criminals were shot in the leg and subsequently arrested. After further interrogation, five members of the gang were sent to jail.
The arrested individuals have confessed to their involvement in multiple thefts across several states, including the two theft incidents in Bokaro’s Sawang and Lalpania areas.
