- Surprise Inspection at Cooperative Mor Center Unveils Multiple Irregularities.
- Accompanied by Additional Collector Md. Mumtaz Ansari, District Supply Officer Mrs. Shalini Khalkho, and Other Officials.
Bulletin India.
On Sunday morning, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mrs. Vijaya Jadhav conducted a surprise inspection of the Chief Minister Dal Bhat Center located at Cooperative Mor, operated by Lakshmi Mahila Mandal. Present during the inspection were Additional Collector Md. Mumtaz Ansari, SDPO Chas Shri Praveen Kumar, District Supply Officer Mrs. Shalini Khalkho, Assistant Public Relations Officer Avinash Kumar Singh, Disaster Management Officer Shri Shakti Kumar, and other officials.
During the inspection, the DC checked the register for people dining at the center, only to find it outdated. The staff member present, Munna, informed the officials that the register was kept at home. The center was found to be in an unsanitary state, with only one or two people dining. The quality of the food served was subpar, with only rice and vegetables being offered. The kitchen was also unhygienic. According to the District Supply Officer, provisions for around 300 meals per day, including rice, chickpeas, and soybeans, were supplied to the center. However, there was no stock of grains at the time of inspection. Only 100 grams of lentils and 1 kilogram of potatoes were found, along with a small quantity of cooked food sufficient for only 6–7 people.
Upset by the unsanitary conditions and operational mismanagement, the DC instructed the District Supply Officer to initiate the closure of the center. Further, the DC directed action to be taken against the members of the group responsible for running the center.
Earlier, the DC and other officials had also inspected the Chief Minister Dal Bhat Center at Naya Mor, operated by the Lakshya Mahila Samuh. Here too, irregularities were found in the attendance register, with repeated names and incomplete or forged signatures. The DC ordered the District Supply Officer to seize the register and take action against the group managing the center. The officials gathered information from the kitchen staff, Upasi Devi, Babli Devi, and Meena Devi, who informed them that on average, only 70–100 people dined at the center.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed an assessment of the actual requirement for food grains and directed a reduction in the allocation accordingly.
