Bulletin India.

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding the release of the outstanding amount of Rs 1.36 lakh crore of the state. This amount is outstanding on the central coal companies. CM Soren said in the letter that this dues should be paid to the state soon.

He has given two suggestions for payment. First, until the entire outstanding amount is repaid in installments, Coal India and its subsidiaries should start paying the interest amount. The other option is to debit the amount directly to the Government of Jharkhand from the account of Coal India in the Reserve Bank of India, as was done earlier in the case of Jharkhand State Electricity Board with DVC (Damodar Valley Corporation).

This step is being considered important for the development of Jharkhand, as it can be helpful in strengthening the financial position of the state.
