Bokaro : Bokaro Superintendent of Police (SP) Mr. Manoj Swargiyari, along with Deputy Superintendent of Police (Head Quarter, DSP) Mr. Animesh Gupta, conducted an awareness session on cyber crime for Class 11 and 12 students at St. Xavier’s School, Bokaro, on Monday.

The program commenced with a welcome address by the school Principal, Father Arun Minz, S.J., who introduced SP Mr. Swargiyari. He highlighted Mr. Swargiyari’s credentials, mentioning that he is a 2018-batch IPS officer who has made significant contributions during his tenure in districts like Dhanbad and Jamtara.

Sharing his rich experiences, SP Mr. Swargiyari motivated the students by emphasizing the importance of drawing inspiration from everyday life to progress towards success. He recounted his tenure in Jamtara, noting that economic reasons and the lure of financial opportunities often lead individuals into criminal activities. Speaking from his personal journey, he remarked that the satisfaction derived from helping the public as an IPS officer is unparalleled.

 

Addressing the students, Mr. Swargiyari advised that in case of any cyber-related incidents, they should not panic but immediately report the matter by calling helpline numbers 1930 or 112. He also answered several queries raised by the students regarding cyber frauds and related crimes.

 

DSP Mr. Animesh Gupta further educated the students about how cyber criminals often impersonate government officials to deceive people. He elaborated on various crimes such as digital arrest and digital blackmail, providing precautionary measures to avoid such scams. Mr. Gupta advised students to use only reputable platforms like Flipkart and Amazon for online shopping instead of unknown applications.

At the conclusion of the event, Father Arun Minz presented mementos to SP Mr. Swargiyari and DSP Mr. Gupta as a token of gratitude for sharing their valuable insights with the students. Vice-Principal of Plus Two section, Mr. Debashish Gupta, and other faculty members were also present at the occasion.
