Bokaro: Bokaro Superintendent of Police (SP) Manoj Swargiary today organized a community policing event at Chutte Football Ground in the Naxal-affected Chatro Chatti police station area. The event aimed to strengthen police-public relations and promote youth engagement through sports and educational support.

During the program, children participated in various sports activities, including football and cricket. The police distributed sports kits, school bags, notebooks, books, and pencils to the children. Women attending the event were also informed about various government schemes run by the state government.

A local woman attending the program expressed her satisfaction, stating, “Women are now stepping forward compared to earlier times. We have also worked with the police in several cases to ensure justice for people. This collaboration benefits both the public and the police.”

Panchayat head Riaz Ansari highlighted the infrastructural improvements in the region, stating, “Earlier, the police station for this area was in Gomia, which caused significant inconvenience to the people. However, with the establishment of two police stations and an outpost, access to law enforcement has improved significantly.” He emphasized the need for such community programs to address local issues and strengthen police-community relations.

Speaking at the event, SP Manoj Swargiary emphasized the importance of community policing in countering Naxal influence. “The overwhelming public response is a sign that the fear of Naxalism is diminishing. The police and the public are coming together, which is a positive sign. Our goal is to prevent young minds from being misled by Naxals and ensure that government benefits reach the people. Through such initiatives, we can curb Naxalism and bring development to the most remote areas,” he stated.

The event witnessed the participation of Bermo Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Circle Officer (CO), Block Development Officer (BDO) of Gomia, Inspector of Gomia, Chatro Chatti Police Station in-charge, and officers from various police stations.

This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by Bokaro Police to promote peace, development, and law enforcement collaboration in Naxal-affected regions.
