New Delhi : The scenic town of Pahalgam, known for its serene landscapes and tourist appeal, turned into a site of horror on Tuesday after terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists in a brutal and sudden assault. At least 26 people lost their lives in the attack, including several foreign nationals. Many others sustained serious injuries.

According to preliminary reports, four heavily armed terrorists believed to be affiliated with the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba were involved in the ambush. The attack has sent shockwaves across the country, prompting widespread condemnation and demands for swift action.

In a move to accelerate the investigation, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh for information leading to the identification or capture of the perpetrators. Authorities have assured that all tips will be kept confidential and the informants’ identities protected.

The police have urged citizens to share any relevant information with the nearest police station or official helpline. “Every bit of intelligence can be critical. Your safety will be our utmost priority,” said a senior police officer.
